Autonomous Mapuche School of Tranamán
Autonomous Mapuche School of Tranamán
The Mapuche community of Tranamán has decided to create its own school. It will be organized and managed by the Margarita Maika women's group of Tranamán.
The Autonomous Mapuche School will train its students for the recuperation of the Mapuche culture, for enhanced community organization and for the full development of their society.
One of the very first stages will be the School's construction, in January 2010.
With the support of CDHAL (Committee for Human Rights in Latin America), two preparatory workshops will take place in the community, during the southern summer of 2009: a solar energy workshop and a digital video workshop.
